About me…
My name is Heather, I’m currently a freshman at the College of Saint Rose. I’m studying Business Administration, with a concentration in Financial Planning, and certificate in Computer Science. I actually love college, I didn’t expect that since I really didn’t care for high school. I went to one of the biggest high school in the capital region (Shaker), and was a graduate in a class of over 550 students. Out of my senior class I won 2 business awards. One was Most Outstanding Business Student Award, that I had to go to an award presentation where the top students in the Capital Region came together. The other one was the Patanian Award, that gave me a scholarship.
I recently just got a puppy, shes a miniature Schnauzer, named Heidi. She pure black and funny as can be. She 3 months old right now and is potty trained!!!! I love her with all my heart, she can make you smile even when your in a bad mood.
Right after i received both of the awards, I had surgery on my right shoulder, from playing softball and volleyball. Playing 3 softball teams and volleyball became to much on my shoulder and I tore my labrum. It took me over 6 months to recover from that, and I still almost 8 months later don’t have all my strength back.
I have been in Girl Scouts since I was in 1 grade and now I’m a life time member. I have done my Silver Award and my Gold Award, which compiles of over 150 hours of community service, leadership, and following someone around. Along with my projects had to have separate hours.
In my freshman year of high school, I became the Captain of the Freshman Volleyball team, since it was my second year on it. I enjoyed it so much with all the girls I played with. My one good friend and me called each other the “Chunka Chunka Twins.” It is still something we joke around about.
In 7th and 9th grade I had mono! Lovely! In 9th grade I only missed a couple days of school. In 7th grade though I missed over 1 1/2 months of school. I had my own tutor, and was constantly sleeping. I’m glad that I had my own tutor otherwise I wouldn’t have passed.
In 6th grade, I had my graduation picture taken with me having a cast on my leg. Apparently I liked having something on me when I graduated. I messed up my knee playing softball….hmm sounds familiar (Senior Year).
Altogether in softball I have sprained both ankles several times, shifted both my knee caps, have tendinitis in my right should, elbow, wrist, and thumb. The surgery, and I also have a scar on my face from where I had my upper teeth go threw my bottom lip creating a whole the size of a quarter, needing stitches to put it together, and a concussion from that incident. That incident unfortunately happened in Ohio so I couldn’t even go to my own bed to sleep, which wouldn’t matter since my mom had to wake me up ever 2 hours.
I have also been to 2 National Tournaments, and 1 International Tournament, and traveled to several states with softball. Some of the places Ive been to are Ohio, Virgina, Montreal, Penn., New Jersey, Vermont, New Hampshire, and more.
Besides traveling with softball, I like to travel with my family and friends. Ive been to Florida, Hershey Park, Ben and Jerry Ice Cream Shop, The Teddy Bear Factory (in Vermont), Washington D.C. and more.
Ever since about 6th grade Ive always had highlights put into my hair. So right this second I have no idea what my true hair color is, except that is a light brown. I start to grow it out, and then I don’t like the way it looks so I change it again. I know its bad for my hair!
I would like thank my mom, dad, brother, (my pets that Ive have or had…..Princess
Sadie
Missie and Heidi) for everything. They have made it possible for me to be pursuing my education, and supporting me with everything that I do. When i need someone to talk to or play with they are always there to comfort. I think the way my parents have raised me, to be respectful, individual, brave, courageous, and to take everything with a smile on my face has made it so I could be where I am now. If I didn’t have one of them to teach me life learning lessons, I definitely wouldn’t be here now.
